A few days ago I bought a dionaea miscipula and a pinguicula weser. Then, I reppoted them, watered them with tap water and left them behind a window. Not in a terrarium or anything. Apparently, the only thing I did right was use peat to repot them (and even then, apparently I should have mixed some sand in), so they should die shortly.
Well, I got demineralised water (while I think of a way to distil water) and a light bulb, so they should feel better now. We'll see if they make it through winter (the dionaea obviously think it's summer, anyway).
There's some contradicting information about wintering if pinguicula, but apparently it's a fairly sturdy plant anyway. Its new leaves being carnivorous, this poster suggests it's also confused about what season it is. The same page suggests I could grow pinguicula outdoors in a garden. I bet Narelle will be happy about that.
