I upgraded my Peekton DVD player today, to see if it would play the AVIs I encode using MEncoder. The process isn't documented for Linux and I waster a couple of CDs, so here is how I burnt the upgrade CD:

• mkisofs -r -o cd.img -iso-level 1 -V MTF MTK.bin
• cdrecord speed=4 dev=/dev/cdrom cd.img

MTK.bin comes from the Peekton Web site. You then follow the procedure that comes with the file, and it all works fine.

My AVIs still don't play though.
